We finally made it to October! I know I always bring the spooky vibes, but for all the newsletters this month I’m going to try and keep things as Halloween-y as possible. I hope your October is filled with cozy nights, fun tricks and autumn treats.

What I’m inspired by

Every year I always look forward to Christine McConnell’s spooky season episodes, and this year she did not disappoint with this gorgeous bat lamp. I don’t have any skills or tools for woodworking but I’m halfway tempted to start because I would love to make something like this.

I know I talk about her all the time but I cannot recommend her Patreon highly enough. For only $3 a month you get access to a new exclusive episode every month where she makes everything from gothic antique lampshades to tarantula cookies. If you were ever into HGTV and you’re a weird goth person now, this is for you.

If you have Netflix, her show The Curious Creations of Christine McConnell is also a cute spooky watch.

If you love the whole Martha Stewart meets Morticia vibe, I also highly recommend Alexsandrea Kagachi. Her projects are so creative and beautiful and I love her little puppet friends.

Did you know Petals & Poison has an e magazine? They just dropped their October 25 capsule and there’s so much gothic glam goodness in here to inspire your home decor and style. Also, I love seeing Silkymochi’s Dark Muse system featured in this issue.

What I’m loving

Monster High is releasing Us collectible dolls and I cannot get over how absolutely gorgeous these ladies are. The styling, the accessories, the details are truly marvelous. Jordan Peele’s horror movies are obviously classics but I feel like they often get overlooked when it comes to merch, so it makes me really happy to see these.

Social justice spotlight

Consider donating to the Transgender Film Center this week. Or if you want to support them but also get some cool apparel in the process, you can preorder these super cool shirts from Super Yaki and 100% of the proceeds will go to them.
