I hope you had a nice and relaxing break! I really enjoyed my time off, but now that we are in December things are going to get super busy again. Between the holidays, several family birthdays (including mine) and seasonal activities, December always feels a bit frantic every year. But I’m trying hard to enjoy the time and really reflect on the beauty of cold, quiet, dark winter nights.
What I watched
Defunctland is one of my favorite YouTube channels, and he recently dropped an amazing video about Disney’s Living Characters. Yes it is over 4 hours long, and I’ve already watched it twice 😅
I’ve had Nosferatu on the brain again recently and I was watching some of the promo videos from when the movie released last year. I especially loved this look at the exquisite costumes in the film.
Who I’m shopping for
When shopping for presents I always try to avoid buying from huge multi billion dollar corporations as much as possible and shop small where I can. Here’s a few shops I’m loving recently and who these gifts would be perfect for.
The scent enthusiast
A couple weeks ago I shared that I ordered my first sampler set from Heretic Parfum. I immediately became a huge fan and I would highly recommend gifting the scent enthusiast in your life something (or multiple things) from Heretic this year. They are having some amazing sales right now, and they have a huge selection of everything from candles to lotion to room sprays to (obviously) perfumes, AND every order comes wrapped in the most beautiful packaging. It’s basically already gift wrapped.

The adorned one
I absolutely love the jewelry crafted by Obsidian Revival. Their antique and medieval inspired pieces are so unique and incorporate vintage and deadstock pieces. They mostly have jewelry but they also sell bag charms and other accessories. This would be the perfect place to get beautiful dark pieces for someone who loves wearing unique items.

The writer
Open Sea Design Co. has the most luxurious dark and witchy stationary, notebooks, planners and more. Their items are perfect for anyone who loves journals, writing physical letters, or is looking to elevate their desk space.

What I wrote
I finally got all my Frankenstein thoughts together about the color motifs used in the film and the nods to mythology and wrote a blog about it all! Feel free to read it, or if you prefer video form I created separate videos about the color motifs and the elements and mythology, respectively.
